Our honeymoon was an opportunity to tackle our bucketlist without abandon.  And that’s just what we did!  We share very similar travel lust and destination dreams, so Thailand ended up being an easy and natural pick for us.

Setting off in proper style with the lovely hosts on Emirates, we departed aboard one of their awkward looking (and rather cushy) A380s for a long haul from Dulles to Dubai.  A short layover later, we were on another A380 to Bangkok to start our proper ground-based adventures.

Bangkok: Arriving in the early evening we were ushered to a waiting area (actually a people holding pen) while our driver was located.

Temples, taxis, delicious mangos, more temples, Katyah getting dressed in a sarong by a vendor (on the way to a temple).  Meeting up with an old friend.

Chiang Mai – More temples, gorgeous hikes, traditional villages, more delicious traditional foods.  Meeting up again with an old friend.  Tasty tasty coffee.

Krabi – Amazing beaches with the softest sand and bluest waters.  Incredible hikes and views.  Private charter boat thanks to an old friend.  Making new friends on a sunset kayak trip.

Bangkok again – Closing out the trip with another new (old) friend.  Exploring and relaxing.
